Im still wavering on my rating, I may bump it up to 4 stars. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I liked that this was a standalone story (at least as far as I know). The story takes place over a couple years and our main character Brusenna really goes through a lot of growth as the story progresses. I liked Senna, she has a pretty daunting task ahead of her, but she never gives up. I liked Joshen, her guardian. He is a sweet guy and totally loyal to Senna, even when she pushes him away. (MildIm small and plain.Desni shot her a look of disbelief. Youre a beautiful girl, Senna. More so because of how rare your features are. Those golden eyesBut when compared to someone like CiaraYou compare diamonds to rubies. Rubies may be a bit more flashy, but diamonds are made of tougher stuff and are more rare. This book was really, really good. It has a bit of a different take on witches, they sing songs to do what they need. I really enjoyed the fantasy setting it was in. Senna was a great character, she was so naive in the beginning, but became so strong and determined when she needed to.I look forward to the next book in this series, I am attached to these characters already, and need to see where it's going to go.I highly recommend this book. This world is simply refreshing. Not the issues that everybody knows and expectes. Indeed this story suprises me continously. Everytime that I thought, now comes the end or the fight or the kiss or whatever, something unexpected happened. Great entertaining!However, at some points I missed the profoundness. The feelings of the characteres, some information of the world and its people, the development of some plot lines should be more explained. I hope, I will find this in the next books. I will
